Snowshoe Sizing

Due to constant variations in temperature, wind, moisture and sun exposure, snow conditions vary radically. Consequently a sizing chart can only serve as an approximate guide to your flotation requirements. Fortunately, the modular aspect of Denali Flotation Tails enables you to easily address your flotation needs when you are in the field.

Also, when snowshoeing with a group, walk in a single file. This will pack the trail for those behind the leader, and will make the going easier for them. The lead person (“trailbreaker”) will need the most flotation. Those who follow can usually use smaller snowshoes. You can provide regular relief for the trailbreaker by rotating the lead as necessary.
