Warren Historic District Bicycle Tour
Follow a map provided through the Warren Historic District experiencing
historic landmarks and architecture. Explore Warren's many antique
shops, unique boutiques and art galleries along the way and stop
for lunch at one of Warren's many great restaurants. Discovering
Warren by bicycle will be an experience you won't forget.
Burr Hill Park
This is the Town of Warren's Park and Beach, with basketball courts,
tennis courts, baseball field, and a music shell where evening
concerts are held in the summertime. Check the signs on the Bike
Path where the path crosses Main St. for dates and times. The path
runs right through the park so bring a blanket and a picnic lunch
and enjoy.
Audubon Environmental Education Center
The Environnmental Education Center is RI's largest aquarium,
situated on the 28 acre Claire D. McIntosh Wildlife Refuge on Narragansett
Bay. It is open year-round, and features a life size model of a
Right Whale, a new Harbor Seal display, marine and freshwater aquarium
exhibits, tide pool tank, trail, boardwalk to the Bay and gift
shop. It is easily accessible via the boardwalk to the east of
the Bike Path. There are bike racks available to park your bike.
Admission is $5 per adult, $3 per child (4-12 years) Open daily,
9-5 May through September.
Coggeshall Farm Museum
Coggeshall Farm Museum portrays the work and lifestyle of a 1790's
coastal farm on 35-acres. See rare breeds of livestock similar
to those found on a farm in the 190's and their heirloom varieties
of vegetables and herbs. Out door buildings include barn, spring
house, cooling house, blacksmith shop, weaver shed and privy.
Colt State Park
Colt State Park in Bristol is often referred to as the 'gem' of
the Rhode Island State Park System. The entire western border of
the park is an open panorama onto Narragansett Bay. Open year round,
the park offers four miles of bicycle trails passing along the
Ban and through 464 acres of groomed fruit trees, carefully nurtured
flowering bushes, and manicured lawns. |
